Indifference

I have done things which in my own consciousness are not good; and I wonder had it not been for some kind of fear then I would not have refrained from doing such a thing. The fear of being caught or exposed for one of these deeds. The fear of falling from the image of the ‘so-called-society’ as the ‘so-called-good’!

I wonder if I did not have this fear would I really care for anything or anybody?

Or is there really something ‘inherently not evil’ within me which would not let evil happen to anybody else or is this ‘inherent goodness’ synonymous to ‘the greatest fear of being subjected to something similar ,painful and misfortunate’!

So is it when we do not have any kind of fear on us and we feel secure,do we tend to become indifferent ?

So why are we indifferent?

I hear the news of this 16 year old girl being gang raped and set to fire and the news reflects on the national TV,it is when the teenager is no more. The FIR itself had been lodged when she had expired.

Like most of us,this is all I could bear to hear and felt pathetic, incapable with a frightened mind totally unaccepting such an incident trying to shun it off totally with one feeling in my mind that this should come to justice?

But what justice? The girl’s there nomore.

I am such a weakling that I fail to consider that girl to be my own sister or else I would be filled with despair, anger and vengeance and not just have my condolence for the bereaved family. I would perhaps loose my willingness to live till the culprits were devasted. But would that bring her back?Life would never be the same.

I like all other normal people chose to remain a passive spectator with my routine condolence at anything misfortunate. Because we cannot come out of our comfort zones.Because we all say that we alone can do nothing.Because we all instead of facing things upfront believe in staying in our comfort zones and pacify our frightened and guilty soul by routine discussions of what is going wrong. We are all indifferent.

Was there a way out,the girl of sixteen had been saved।Was there a way she had been conveyed timely the message by our sleeping society ….’We are all together.’!

Had the girl and her family received such warm gestures from we sleeping people may be she would have lived!

RTI Act.......Know your rights.

As Elections approaching.... We all should be awake and charged up for using our right of voting. It is not only our right but our duty too to opt for the right person.

If we really want to see some change its time for us to take actions. Democracy have no meanings if we do not use our this right rightly. We should go and vote and make sure to vote for the right person. Most of us might not be knowing about the RTI act and if knowing would never have used it. It is actually a very good tool to cross question the government.

RTI Act is Right to information act.It came into picture since 12th October 2005.RTI is a central legislation, which enables the citizens to procure information from a public authority. It provides the mechanism for obtaining information.

Information means any material in any form including records, documents, memos, e-mails, opinions, advices, press releases, circulars, orders, logbooks, contracts, reports, papers, samples, models, data material held in any electronic form and information relating to any private body which can be accessed by a public authority under any other law for the time being in force.

"Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high…
…into that heaven of freedom , my father, let my country awake"

Be The Change You Want to See!!!

Yesterday, My friend called me up. He was very upset. He did not know the reason but he said he is angry. He was angry with everything around him. Angry with society, country systems, corruptions everywhere, Lies, Robberies, Cheatings, terrorism and what not. He was so pissed off with all this things that everything he do, every person he meets looking fake to him.

When I gave a thought to it, I felt all of us are in the same kinda situation. Somewhere in our hearts we are angry with something or the other. But does it change anything around us. Instead this thing is making us so unhappy, giving us misery all the time. Our anger not only affecting us it is also affecting people around us, our society, our real motives.

We cannot run away from things whether good or bad we have to live with it, face it and than only we can make an effort to change the things. Things seems fake when everything around is so annoying. And the only way to be happy in such scenario is to take some action to change. To give yourself a real hope that things will change, will actually move in the direction we want them to move.

Start seeing yourself, your efforts what you can do, ask yourself questions are you doing anything to achieve it. As someone very well said "Be The Change You Want to See"

Politicians divide us … Terrorists unite us !!!!

In the light of recent events, isn’t the above statement, though seems to be an oxymoron but, very apt.

Continuing with the motive of Sparsh, I will highlight a very important and common issue of our country - Exercising judiciously Right to Vote.

If in any morning; a national level mishap is reported in a newspaper, how many of us abuse politicians or raise doubts over their capabilities. I think majority will be answering in the affirmative. But are we right in blaming the people who are so called “representatives of us “…. Are these people to blame or we are the real criminals. If we don’t exercise our voting rights properly, I say we are the reason and people to be blamed for inefficiencies in the system. When these representatives divide our country on the basis of region (Maharashtra Vs Bihar) or caste (OBC Quota) or religion (the infamous and everlasting Hindu – Muslim division) why do we get so agitated; When half of us treat an election day as a holiday or half of us think it is ‘out of fashion’ to cast vote or many refuse to vote because they can’t stand in long queues … and last many get an excuse that there is no eligible candidate to whom we can vote.

Recent terror attacks in Mumbai, whole nation came together to raise voice against terrorism, to show anger against Politicians, to discuss inefficiency of policy makers and all. Isn’t it strange terrorists (Antisocial elements) are doing the job which politicians should have done much before – Uniting people of India irrespective of caste, creed, location and religion to fight for the cause.

Many of my friends tell me, that they want to vote and want to have stake in nation’s say… but most of them are out of their native places, and could not vote at the place they are living.
A very unique and plausible solution has been brought up in the form of http://www.jaagore.com/ ; where in a Bangalore based NGO joined hands with TATA TEA to appeal people of India obtain their voting rights at their current place of residence. The simple steps are –

1. Visit http://www.jaagore.com/ and fill a form there; It's easy and hardly takes 5 minutes!
2. Take out a print out of that form and submit to your nearest local electoral Registration office; on the website, address of the office respective to your location is given.
3. Jaago Re will take responsibility of tracking your application, and inform the voter, if and when his/her name is entered in the rolls, which would enable him/her to vote.
4. If any problems, please visit “Questions” section on website.

Never before, casting your vote has been simpler. Let us join in their dream to have 1 billion votes this general election. Also, we should pledge that, we cast votes with full responsibility and not under any influence. Cast your vote to the person whom you see that
he can bring a CHANGE and that is what we strive for NOW….

About स्पर्श......

Sparsh .... is an attempt to rekindle souls of people to unite them and strengthen our voice against all social evils in our country. Everyone among us has showed concern for our country, on facing countless shocking incidents be it Mumbai 26/11 or Delhi bomb blasts or Orissa nuns’ rape scandal or Corruption…. Illiteracy…..Unemployment the list continues…… half of us get enthused to fight against these grave issues but soon become numb; not knowing which direction to proceed.

Sparsh provides we like minded people a platform to speak, to fight against and to touch souls of people of India. In the crowd if a voice ever tries to speak and stand, is heard no more than a noise is. Hence through Sparsh voices so loud is to chorus in harmony what we really want and give back to the generation behind us.

There must be somewhere among us true leaders. Through sparsh we aim at reaching out to such leaders who would re-energize us with vigor and energy! To free us of the slavery that is ingrained in our spirits. To call on to those people - with the means, to reach out to those -who need us.

No more to think of problems but have solutions. Let there be no doubts unknown to us, all around us shall be souls involved in bringing a positive CHANGE…… But no more are we to work in fragments but to give rise to a mass REVOLUTION….. A nation strongly built with healthy and happy people shall in return stabilize the globe as a whole.

Through sparsh should flow concrete ideas in an infectious manner. Our honest and great ideas which we have but fail to express or think it’s not worth heard! We shall raise various social problems, the evils around us and bring up solutions to these and implement them around us. Language is not a constraint here… you may choose whichever mode you can articulate your ideas in words….

This life is transitory!!! In this world of impermanence, is required a permanent change from all miseries liberating all. And this is our duty in our short lives. Why run after something that is not real?
Let us pay back to our motherland….And this is the only Time…And only WE can do it….

Need of the hour.... Jehad

This was due since long time... and what can be the better day than today...

Thus Jesus spake to his followers... "Break free" from all barriers of caste , creed , religion and devote yourselves towards selfless service of people.

Previous two blogs by Moksha has put across a critical problem of Terrorism, camouflaged as Jehad by terrorists, our country is facing. These are appeals to youth of India to come forward and unite together to solve this grave problem. And its applaudable to see, how resurgent people of Mumbai have the fire and spirit this time to do away with their "Carry On Mumbai" spirit.. and bring a CHANGE... But how do we bring this change ???

Change the SYSTEM !!!! -- Do we have enough muscles to fight against those bully politicos who have millions of money to influence people's mind... Or Will we be another Satyendra Dubeys or Manoj Guptas.... who got punishment of their lives for being the whistle blowers against bureaucracy...
How will you change this insolent system we are living in, who gives Rs 3 crores to our Ace shooter who brings a Gold Medal home(that too there is no contribution of System in his success).... but pays a mere Rs 5 lacs, with questions on his integrity, to another shooter who dies fighting terrorists and sacrificing his life to save our lives......

Yes we need to bring a JEHAD in this country... and this Jehad, unlike the terrorists', has no religion, no face, no selfish reasons... This is a confluence of ideas of like minded people like us who need to spare some time out of our busy lives and pledge to bring a constructive change in our country.

Educate, as rightly put by Moksha, is the basic solution and first step to change the System from roots. When these terrorists can influence kids of 12-15 yrs old to risk their lives in the name of Jehad... Why cant we .... influence children through education to become a fountain head for our country's growth.

My heart cries when I see kids of 8-10 years at traffic lights carrying a bowl and pleading instead of a pen and a book in their hands.... there are many such children in our surroundings who dont go to school , why dont we find these kids and prepare them to get them admitted in good govt. schools... Yes I agree although the plight of govt. schools leave us with no better option, but let us not excuse ourselves with this reason, when we can induct them with moral values, ethics, better hygiene and social awareness by sparing with them few hrs.

There are many avenues available just footsteps from our cozy places, where we can start this Jehad... join with any non profit organization near to your home.... all it asks is 2 hrs every week... and gives you lifelong satisfaction...Remember its not an obligation we are doing on others...we are just paying our duty.... Come together and join hands in hands... lets start our JEHAD too which is the NEED OF THE HOUR...........
